Based in the heart of Devon, Root to Roof Thatching covers all corners of the county and parts of the South West. We like to bring a new wave of enthusiasm to an ancient trade whilst maintaining the old traditional methods.
After 7 years of thatching experience we know that owning a thatch roof and having work done can be a daunting experience. We ensure a very high standard of workmanship on top of providing a friendly and helpful customer relationship. This includes knowledgeable advice and tailored options for what suits the customer and the project.
We are always happy to undertake a variety of jobs whether it’s water Reed, wheat straw, ridging, repairs, new builds, listed buildings, small to large projects.
OUR SERVICES
At Root To Roof Thatching we offer a wide range of thatching services. Including but not limited to:
Full re-thatching
We expect a full re-thatch to last at the top end of 20-30 years depending on the pitch of the roof and it’s location.
Ridging
We expect a ridge to last between 10-15 years as the top of the roof takes the brunt of all the weather.
Repair work
From pest damage to patch work on the thatch, this is an essential service to ensure the roof lasts as long as it can
Insurance reports
A survey to ensure the roof is compliant with current regulations. This is essential for any insurance quotes.
COVERAGE AREA
We’re based around Exeter but also have a base in mid Devon. We would also be willing to travel outside the county and South West for certain projects. We cover many areas, not limited to:
